CAPCS has an extended school year, typically running from the last week in August to the end of June.

What are your work hours for teachers?

The normal work day for teachers starts at 8:00 a.m. and end at 4:45 p.m. The daily classroom schedule runs between 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The mission of Dorothy I. Height Community Academy Public Charter School is to create a caring learning community where students acquire the knowledge, skills and habits of mind to think critically; to read, write, speak and listen effectively; to reason mathematically; to inquire scientifically; and to develop the social competence that ensures meeting the qualifications for acceptance to a competitive high school.
