The Dorothy I. Height Community Academy Public Charter School (CAPCS) is governed by a Board of Trustees in accordance the School Reform Act, which provides the board be structured with an odd number of Board members not to exceed 15, a majority of whom are DC residents and with at least two parent members. The Board of Trustees of the Dorothy I. Height Community Academy Public Charter School is committed to educational excellence by the students and staff of the school. When we see excellence exhibited in our CAPCS community, we want to acknowledge and recognize those involved. We are pleased to congratulate the staff for the significant academic improvements made by students at the Amos 1, Butler and Online campuses, and in the Amos 3 Middle School on the 2011 DC-CAS test. The determination, creative techniques, and strong support from the teaching staff and the academic leadership at these campuses had the desired results. We salute and congratulate the students, staff and leaders for exhibiting excellence!

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the CAPCS Board of Trustees will be held on Wednesday, December 14, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Amos 3 campus. The Board is rotating its meeting locations among the campuses to provide parents and staff with the opportunity to meet Board members and to raise any questions or concerns. All those associated with the Amos 3 campus are encouraged to attend.
