The Student Support Team (SST) provides assistance to teachers as they work with students who are struggling academically and/or behaviorally. When a teacher refers a students to the SST, team members, consisting of counselors, social workers, school psychologists, general education teachers, administrators, other support staff, and parents, discuss the student's needs to develop a student care plan. The SST process is data driven. SST members consider evidence that the teacher and/or support staff collects to document the concern. They design an implementation plan that includes a monitoring and evaluation component to determine the effectiveness of the intervention.
