Hiring Process for Substitute Teachers, Teacher's Assistants, and Support Staff

A minimum of 60 hours of college credit is required to substitute teach with Community Academy. Substitute Teacher's Assistants and Support Staff need only a high school degree.

$13.00 per hour - Substitute Teachers (60 credits or more, but less than a Bachelor's Degree)
$13.50 per hour - Substitute Teachers (Bachelor's Degree or higher)
$15.00 per hour - Substitute Teachers (Long-Term Assignment)
$17.00 per hour - Subsitute Teachers (Long-Term Assignment, Retired Teachers)
$11.00 per hour - Substitute Teacher's Assistants
$10.00 per hour - Substitute Administrative Assistant
$9.00 per hour - Substitute Custodial, Maintenance, or Food Service Workers

Step 2: Apply for a specific vacancy by submitting the following materials via mail, e-mail or fax.

    Cover Letter & Résumé
    Substitute Application
    Transcripts (unofficial will be fine at this stage)
    Copy of Substitute Teaching Certificate (if applicable)
    Two Professional Letters of Recommendation
    Any additional material you feel is appropriate

Step 3: All résumés and materials will be reviewed. Those candidates who meet the proper qualifications will receive an orientation package and new hire paperwork in the mail. All substitutes will be expected to come in for a scheduled Substitute Orientation prior to beginning work with CAPCS. At the Substitute Orienation, you must be able to present the following documents:
